OPTIMUS application case: motor control system optimization

1. This problem
Application overview
Motor control system design is a multi-disciplinary issues, including mechanical, electrical and control system. OPTIMUS can explore space design and optimization algorithm by its strength in need no user intervention to
rotating joints
be automatic design improvement. This example demonstrates how to integrate with Simulink OPTIMUS together, through the modification of (a) motor magnetic poles width (b) excitation signal, to
rotary union
optimize the output torque motor ripple and switch loss.
Design problems
Control system model in Simulink is established in. Motor magnetic poles of the corresponding different width of the electromagnetic field have been in ANSYS finish calculation, and inductance coil as a result was imported into the Simulink models. Inverter circuits in the PSpice are completed in modeling, and then by SLPS interface circuit module will convert and Simulink compatible module, which completed integration.

The simulation process and OPTIMUS workflow OPTIMUS graphical user interface integration of the simulation program, and their work process and input/output file. Through the OPTIMUS and Matlab/Simulink interface, OPTIMUS is very easy to fiber optic rotary joint parametric simulation of input file, and the output files to resolve the need for the output parameters (figure 1).
